What We Believe

Growing University exists to serve the Church by providing biblically faithful, theologically sound, and spiritually formative resources. Our books, courses, and teaching materials are grounded in historic, conservative evangelical Christianity and are written in submission to the authority of Scripture.
All Growing University publications reflect and align with the doctrinal convictions outlined below.
While authors may differ on secondary or non-essential matters within orthodox Christianity,
​they affirm these core truths as foundational and non-negotiable.

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and wholly trustworthy. Scripture is the final and sufficient authority for faith, doctrine, and practice.

The Triune God

We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—coequal in power and glory, and one in divine essence.

God the Father

We believe God the Father is Creator, Sustainer, and sovereign Ruler of all things. In love and mercy, He sent His Son for the redemption of sinners and adopts into His family all who come to Him through faith in Christ.

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the substitutionary atonement for sinners through His death on the cross.
​We affirm His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, His present intercessory ministry, and His personal, visible return in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates those who believe, and permanently indwells every follower of Christ. He illuminates Scripture, empowers believers for godly living and service, and distributes spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church.

Humanity and Sin

We believe humanity was created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam’s disobedience. As a result, all people are sinners by nature and by choice, spiritually separated from God and incapable of saving themselves apart from divine grace.

Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is the gracious gift of God and not the result of human works or merit.
​All who repent of sin and trust in Jesus Christ are justified, regenerated, adopted into God’s family, and eternally secure in Him.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ, composed of all true believers. The local church is God’s primary instrument for worship, discipleship, fellowship, evangelism, and mission.  We affirm believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper as ordinances given to the Church.

The Christian Life

We believe every believer is called to live a life of holiness, obedience, and faithful witness. Spiritual growth occurs through the reading of Scripture, prayer, fellowship, and participation in the local church.

Last Things

We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, the bodily resurrection of all people, the final judgment, and the eternal destiny of every soul—everlasting life for the redeemed and eternal separation from God for the unredeemed.

Marriage, Gender, and Human Life

We believe God created humanity male and female in His image. We affirm that marriage is the covenant union of one man and one woman.  We affirm the sanctity and dignity of human life from conception to natural death.
